THE CANNING INDUSTRY

(Special to "The Evening Post") DUNEDIN, This Daj\ "Apprehension exists that the Minister of Customs may have unwittingly dealt the New Zealand fresh fruit and canning industries a mortal blow in .the ' Aus-tralian-New Zealand trade treaty," said a Dunedin merchant. "Various rumours are afloat, and if Australia has been asking New Zealand to reduce the sma!l New Zealand tariff of.3s 5d per dozen on canned fruits it would certainly be unfair to the Dominion."
