VENTURE THAT FAILED
Unable to pay all of a debt of £300 incurred in the purchase of an apnrtmenthouse, Winifred Mayall attended at the office of the Official Assignee, Mr. S. Tansley, yesterday afternoon, for a meeting of her creditors, three of whom were present. Mr. G. C. Kent appeared on behalf of the bankrupt, who returned her debts as amounting to £106. She stated that, having saved the sum of £)ou, she looked round for a business, finally deciding to purchase an apartment-house for £300. The depression affected her income and she found difficulty both in letting her rooms and in getting boarders to pay. Having goj; behind in her paYments and being pressed, she had been forced to-file. After a brief examination of the bankrupt, it was decided to facilitate her discharge, and the meeting was adjourned sine die.
