Ten relief workers' teams have been formed, and the use of the Kilbirnie Stadium on Friday mornings will bo granted." EASTER MATCHES. Preliminary arrangements were completed for the visit of fifteen players from the South Island, and in addition- to the Wellington players selected, fourteen will be in Wellington from other parts of the North Island. Lengthy correspondence from the Auckland Association in regard to the representation of players from that /province, together with the team to take the field in the Rose Bowl match on Easter Monday, Was received, and it was agreed to adhere to the former decision to pay the expenses of six men, including the manager, as it would be expected that Auckland city would have at least five men in'the North Island team for the Saturday whose expenses would be met by the New Zealand Council. The Wellington Association has been of the opinion that the playing of this match on Easter Monday would bo of no benefit so'early in the season other than as a means of allowing the sole selector a further opportunity of seeing players in action from Auckland. The inclusion of players from-South Auckland will further enable Auckland to place a very strong team in the field against Wellington. OPENING OF SEASON. The entries received are up to the number of last year, and it was decided to open the season 'with championship matches in the first A division on April 22 with seven-a-side matches in the morning and up to 3 p.m. in the afternoon for all the boys' grades at the Kilbirnie Stadium. City reserves will be available, with the exception of the Basin Reserve, on the following Saturday, April 29, and all other division matches will then be commenced. Stadium on Saturday.and these trial matches will not only enable the local sole selector to gain fome idea of the fitness of, players so early in the season, in view of the selection of the team for Australia, leaving on May 10, but also should give the New Zealand sole selector: an opportunity of seeing'players in action.
