(Special from "Binocular.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. Callamart, who ran a very creditable race over the battens at Manawatu on the second day, may bo found competing over the big timber at Ellerslie. Although the big fences have not been put up at Awapuni as yet, some schooling has been attempted over a couple of brush fences inside the: oval. Omeo, Pangolin, Henry'of Nayarre, and one or two others have been given

outings over tho battens during, the! week. Becruits to the game are Orby'ii Choice and Park Acre, but both have something to learn. Easterly may b<! given a trial over the big fences in the near future. E. C. Miles, the well-known hurdlo horseman, has removed to Hamilton, and it is.not unlikely that C. J. Thomson will do tho riding for L. Knapp'is stable in future. ■ ' Mrs. A. McDonald has broken in threij of her yearlings, and she is taking to tho tracks a Paper Money—Quadrilateral filly who is owned'by Mr. J. S. Brunton, of Sydney, and tho Captaiu Bunsby—Eapide filly, the property oE Mr. J. Stormont, of Auckland. The Tea Tray—Bebe colt developed a cold anil he is an absentee meantime. Minstrel Lad, who figures in th 3 Great Northern St. Leger, has made a reappearance at the tracks, but, so far as can be ascertained, the Laekham— Capitulation colt who figured in.' the same event is still out of training. Inflation, who figures in the. Easter Handicap, has been physicked and is enjoying a brief spell. . E. E. Hatch has received two or three additions to his team of. late, and tho contingent was augmented still further by the arrival of "King TJiomond. The Thomond gelding is somewhat on the light side at present. Princess Doreon continues to do well in her preparation for the G.N. Chaixipagne Stakes. Ol'B day this week, with W. Broughton in tho saddle, she ran five furlongs on the outside of the course proper in lmin, 3 2-ssec,' after leaving the first two behind in 25 l-ssee. ■ ■
