COLLEGE PAGEANT

SATURDAY'S FETE

Many ex-pupils and friends of the Wellington Girls' College- were disappointed that they could not sec the pageant (arranged by Mrs. James Hannah) at the- recent jubilee. Many requests have been received that this should be repeated, and it has been arranged to do so at the garden party to be held Saturday afternoon next at the college, Pipitea Street. The pageant will be given at 3 p.m. so that visitors are advised to be early to see the school in its different decades.

The garden party has been arranged by- the- Parent's Association and the College Old Girls, and all supporters and friends as well as parents are asked to accept this as a personal invitation. The Old Girls' Association find it impossible to get in touch personally with all ex-pupils, but trust that with the memory of the jubilee thrill they will be present and contribute to the various stalls (cakes, sweets, produce, secondhand books, flowers, ete). There will be plenty of sideshows, and in addition to the pageant, the present pupils will be seen in varied drill displays. Ex-pupils arc invited to bring their rackets for tennis.

The proceeds, of the fete are to be used by the parents and pupils alike for school improvements—the old girls having'in mind a scheme, not only for completing their jubilee gifts but for additional improvements. They x look for the same wholehearted support and loyalty that was given during the jubilee when the girls so heartily accepted the invitation to come back to college. :
