BUTTER DUMPING

EFFECT OF RESTRICTION

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

PALMEESTON N., This Day

"I do not think that many producers realise the seriousness of a quota being placed upon New Zealand's butter exports," stated tho chairman (Mr. N. Campbell) at a meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Dairy Farmers' Union this afternoon.

The chairman pointed out that this season production in the Dominion had increased by 20 per cent., and a quota restriction of 6 per cent, based on the previous season's figures would mean that.there would be no market for 26 per cent, of the produce. That meant dumping wKile people were in need. It was pitiful, but the produce could not be sent to glutted markets. The quota was going to be a very serious thing.
