SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
There was no lack of variety in the programme presented to a full audience at the Sailors' Friend Society Institute on Wednesday night. The Misses Mona Harris, McKenzie, Ormrod, and Miller,, and Messrs. Bennett and Pennington were the vocalists, the last-named in humorous numbers. Two little pupils of .Miss Seymour, Betty Capper and Jean Cerchin, dressed in period costumes, gave a delightful rendering of "To a Miniature'-1 and "The Second Minuet." Elocutionary items were contributed by Miss Seymour, Messrs. T. Williams and Claude Smith. Saxophone and mandolin solos by Mr. Fitzgerald and Douglas Hill were much enjoyed. The performance by Mr. Edlin on the Swanee .whistle and musical saw also found great favour.' Mr. P. Archer, the accompanist, was host for the evening. Supper was served by members of the party. Community singing closed a niost enjoyable programme.
