BUTTER MARKET
A GOOD DEMAND
(Received March 17, 11.30' a.m.) LONDON, March 16. Danish butter is 98s per cwt; "coloniiil" is in good demand. Choicest salted New Zealand 78s to 80s per cwt; Australian 76s to 78s, unsalted same price. Cheese is steady. New Zealand, white 44s to 45s per cwt, coloured 50s to 51s; Australian, white 425, coloured 48s. Cabled advice from A. J. Mills, Ltd., London, March 16, gives the following market prices as ruling at the close of j business on Thursday:—"Butter: The market is steady. New Zealand, finest 7Ss to 79s per cwt, firsts 77s to 78s, unsalted 80s to 82s; Danish, 94s to 965; Australian, 76s to 775; Argentine, 70s to 745. Cheese: The market is steady. New Zealand, white 43s to 45s per cwt, coloured 48s to 495; Canadian, white 64s to 665, coloured 65s to 675." Samuel Page and Son, London, report to Dalgety and Co., under date of the 16th instant:—"Butter: Market firm, but less active. Danish, 96s to 98s; New Zealand finest salted, 77s to 80s; Australian finest salted, 76s to 775, unsalted 76s to 775, G.A.Q., 72s to 745. Cheese: Market firm. New Zealand, white 445, coloured 51s; spot price for Canadian white, 60s to 68s, coloured 60s to 685."
