FAREWELL GATHERING
WARNER'S LAST MESSAGE
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 16. The English cricketers are on board the Maunganui, which left Sydney for Wellington at 4.20 p.m. today. At a farewell gathering, held by the New South Wales Cricket Association, Warner, Palairet, and Jardino wero handed souvenirs of their visit in the shape of large cigarette-boxes of Australian polished wood, adorned with appropriate emblems.
Jardine, in a happy acknowledgment, said that he regarded tho gifts more as a tribute 'to the great side he had been privileged to lead. He added that the visits of Australian cricketers to England wero always most welcome.
The team had a cordial sen3-off.
P. F. Warner, in a farewell message; radioed from the Maunganui tonight, said: ■ "Australia has played a most important part in my cricketing life, but tonight we part for ever."
