RECEIVING CHARGE
A remand until Thursday was granted by Mr. E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court today, in the case of Homleigh Wiltred Franks, a canvasser, aged 2a, who was Charged With receiving a quantity of clothing and a suitcase valued at £11 15s when he knew them to have been dishonestly obtained. i
When Mr. G. Joseph, counsel for the accused; asked for bail, Detective-Ser-geant Tricklebank said that it had been his intention to oppose bail. The articles mentioned in the charge were part of the proceeds of a big robbery that had taken j place at Cambridge . last month. / The accused had been iv company with criminals who had not yet be^n located, and had been going about the country in af large car. "He is a bird of passage," concluded the Detective-Sergeant. The Magistrate fixed bail at £300 with a surety of £300.' In the event of the accused finding the bail, he was ordered to report .daily to tho police.
