CROSSEREDS DOWN IN PRICE
(Received March 15 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 14, Offerings at the opening of the wool sales today were 9027 bales, including 3301 bales New Zealand. • Approximately 4110 bales were sold. There was a poor selection of merinos, but a good lot of crossbreds. The sales attracted a large attendance of buyers. The Home trade was competing freely, but Continental buying was done rather sparingly. As compared with the February sales closing rates, greasy merinos at this sale were 5 per cent, lower in price. Fine crossbredfi 5 per cent, lower; medium and coarse crossbreds IY2 per cent, to 10 per cent down.
Realisations included New Zealand greasy merinos, "Birchil" highest 9%d, overage 9d; greasy, Kalfbred, "Ngaio Downs" highest 9%d, average 9d.
