(Received February 17, 2 p.m.) , BBISBANE, This Day. Bailway services in. the west wert dislocated following heavy rains. Creeks and rivers rose alarmingly and covered the lines. The "Walls Biver is 17 feet over the bridge-and still rising The Georgine, Biver' is in the highest flood for years, and is still rising rapidly. Nine inches of rain' fell at Boulia in twelve hours, and more rain it imminent. - ■ ' ■ ■ A later, message states" thatfurther heavy rain is falling in the north-west' part.of Queensland. Boulia experienced the biggest dood for thirty years. Eetidents in low-lying parts were rescued by police in boats. Blacks in a camp; on the_outskirts of the. town.spent thai night in trees, and were rescued-yes-terday morning. The sheep losses, are heavy. All roadi are impassable. Boulia is likely to b.a isolated for weeks. The Leichhardt Biver at' Mount Isa is in the biggest flood on record. The bridge is six feet under water. The bridge at Malboa was washed away, and .the railway1, bridge at Cloneurry, was .also -washed away. The floodwaters are eight feet over the rails, and no. trains are ex* pected at Mount Isa before Sunday* Graziers, however, are■. jubilant,, as th« rain has Teassured their: position for many months.
