SILVERSTREAM PLANS

Silverstream Women's Institute continues to progress, as the first meeting for 1933, presided over by Mrs. Castle, plainly showed. A very good attendance of members demonstrated their interest. Nominations were received for new officers, and a number of suggestions inadc^f or the programme for the coming year. The secretary was Instructed to forward to Miss Jerome Spencer a resolution expressing appreciation of her work in founding and establishing the W.I. movement in New Zealand and wishing her "bon voyage" and a pleasant visit to England. A trip from "The Capo to Cairo," as described by Mrs. Barton (Featherston), held the attention of everyone, and Mrs. Barton acceded to the.unahim- ; ous request to return with a further talk. Mesdames Moss, Smyrk, Tyley, Young, and -Miss; Barton acted as hostesses, and the social half-hour, with community singing, closed a very pleasant afternoon.
