Cases at the Magistrate's Court were dealt-with to-day'by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt. S.M. . - ' • Manu- ■Tomuru, a labourer, aged 23, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment tfn a charge of stealing a coat and %-est valued nt £2. The accused, who had previously been convicted for theft, stole the unities from a fellow-inmate of a charitable home and pawned them for 3s. Frank Pepper, aged 33, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within six months if called upon on a charge of stealing a bag. The bag was taken from the bar of an hotel.
