SCOTS SOCIAL CLUB
There was a large attendance at the Burns night social held by the Scots bocial Club on Saturday. The "Immortal Memory was made the subject of a speech ..by..the-president; Mr.: Robert Hogg, and was toasted with musical honours. "The V^to t^ Haggis." .was recited by Mr. ..J.-lUcUllum, and the haggis .was played -in-, by pipers with 'full honours The -chairman,-Mr:' C." Kelly; spoke," and the following items were given:—Song, "There Was a Lad," Mr. D. Dorcnan;. songs, Miss Lol,' na Gamble, "Ye Banks and Braes" andu /Within, a Mile of Edinborouch Town ; songs,-Mr.- W. 'MeKenzie, "The --.Rig.. ...and-i'.'Of a' the Airts": songs, Mrs. Duguid, "Scotland Yet" and Co.mm Thro' the Rye"; Scots-reading, Mrs. Hill;' recitation,. Mr. J. MacCallum, lam o Shanta." A presentation was made to Miss Aitken, a member who is to leave for Australia. The evening concluded with Scots and old-time dancing.
