SUSPENSION OF JOCKEY
(Special from "Early-Bird.") ' AUCKLAND, This Day. Before the field in the ZealandiaHandicap at Takapuna on Saturday had gone a couple of furlongs there appeared to be some interference between Eager Rose (J. Day) and Rosshire (C. Walters), and neither horse took any part in the finish. The Judicial Committee inquired into this interference, and found that it was caused by Eager Rose's rider endeavouring to push through on the rails on the inside of Rosshire, but no action was taken. Following on this race, the Judicial Committee reported that it had suspended Day for three months for allegedly assaulting Walters in the jockeys' room.
