RACES AT PAREMATA

.Five races were sailed at Paremata' last week-end in perfect weather, with a light breeze from the south. A strong spring tide added-interest'and uncertainty. Results, with handicaps and actual sailing tunes, were:—■ ■ .:.--,.

; Fust-class Centreboard Handicap (Hansford Memorial Cup).—Kuini. (4m), lh 39m 445, 1; Putorino (4m), lh. 41m 445, 2; Peggy (scr), lh : 38m 12s, 3. The other starters finished in: the following order:— Kotuku (4%m), Misß Josephine (%m), Kewpio (6%m), The Lois (4m) fouled Putorino at Bradley's buoy, and withdrew. First-class Centreboard Handicap.— Peggy (scr), lh 42m 395, -1; Lois (3%m), lh 46m 175>,2; Kuini (4m), lh 46m 535, 3. Also started and finished in the following order:—Kotuku (sm), Putorino (4m), Miss Josephine (2m) y Kewpie (7%m). i Although the Lois had established a big lead at the end o£. the .first round, the Peggy took full advantage of the freshening breeze, and, passing the Lois to leeward, went on to win by Bsec, with the Kufni close up third.
