FREEZING DISPUTE

HELP FOR STRIKERS

Watersiders, seamen, and unemployed attended a meeting at the Trades Hall last night called by the Freezing Workers' Union. The following resolution was carried:— "That this mass meeting of watersiders, seamen, and unemployed, recognise the wonderful and heroic fight the freezing workers are putting up on behalf of the workers of New Zealand; and that we pledge ourselves to do all in our power to assist them." A United Front Committee, comprising members of the Watersiders' Union, seamen, freezing workers, and unemployed organisations, was formed to help the union freozing workers, who are at present on strike. A meeting of the members of the Petone branch of the Freezing Workers' Union is to be held at Pctone tonight.
