AN S.O.S. CALL
STEAMER STRIKES ICEBERG
SEARCH IN SNOWSTORM
(Eeeeived 14th January, 9 a.m.) KOBE, 13th January. . Nothing has been heard of the Russian steamship Saghalien, with 250 passengers on board, since an S.O.S. signal was received from the Sea of Okhotsk yesterday. Japanese vessels which answered the call are searching in a blinding snowstorm. The Saghalien struck an iceberg, and afterwards fire occurred.
