AUCKLAND, 11th. January.

Since improvements have been made to the roads leading to Kaxekare and Piha, more people visit the beaches there. Sitting to-day as Coroner, Mr. Hunt said ho thought it was time the authorities erected notices warning people not to bathe on the beaches unless the tide was coming in. "I would further suggest the advisability of installing life-saving reels or other apparatus at these two places immediately, 5' he said. ' The inquest was in connection with the death of Miss Alice "Wilson, aged 38, a school teacher, of Green Lane, who was drowned at Karekare on Monday afternoon.
