: ; WESTPORT, 2nd January. , Ailthough the weather was somewhat mixed, Westport saw the New Year in enthusiastically. The Westport Municipal Band paraded the main street .and also played for the dancing on the green in Victoria Square. ' 'the Fire Brigade held a midnight banquet, and Messrs. H. E. Holland, M'.P.jF. Morgan, superintendent, and others made public speeches. The Blackball pipers, visiting Westport for the Caledonian ball and a special "Ingleside,"' also added to the gaiety of the festivities.
