TECHNICAL COLLEGE
ADVISORY COMMITTEES'
WORK
Xho valuable work being done by the advisory committees of the Technical College was stressed by Mr. W. H. Bennett, chairman of the College Board of Governors, when commenting on the committee's annual reports presented at the monthly meeting last night. Mr. Bennett said that the reports of the various committees, dealing as they did with the work of the classes in which they had a practical knowledge, were very gratifying. They showed that the instruction given was along the . lines deemed essential by those who had an intimate knowledge of the requirements of each branch of commerce and industry, and although the prevailing economic position had affected tho trade evening classes, they must under the circumstances be considered satisfactory. If any doubt existed as to the advisability of advisory committees he thought the reviews by the committees of the year's work would dispel it. He mentioned that because in some educational countries such committees had been disbanded as unworkable. In the Wellington Technical College, however, the committees had been of the greatest value to the board, and he wished to place on record the board's appreciation of their work, during the year.
