The'■fortiiisMtly mee'tirig-6i the" Lower Hutt ißorough Council was held last evening. There were present, Mr. .W. T. Strand (Mayor), and Councillors W. G. Meldrum, A. Anderson, D. S. PatricljC, W. Wilson, J. Mitchell, A. Grierson, and B. Ginger. The Sanitary Officers' Institute asked that the borough inspector be given facilities to attend a conference to be held in Auckland, and the matter was referred to the Works Committee. The Otago" Electric Power Board requested the support of the council to a remit to -the Municipal Conference, asking for a reduction in local body interest. The request was acceded to. PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL'
- The Petone Borough- Council—met last night. The Mayor. (Mr. D. McKenzie) presided, and there were also present Councillors V.-A.1 Noble, J. \WLongman, V. E. Jacobson, H. A. Ryder,, A. ScholeHold, U T. -E. Hogg, R. W. Toomath, and J C Burns.
Inquiries are ito be made into-the feasibility of sinking a ■ small artesian bore at McEwan. Park for the watering of the encke't wickets. The matter arose from a request by the Korokoro Cricket Club for the use,-pf th^.-water cart for watering the wickets, '■'■:■": 'The Petone' '■': Amateur : Athletic and Cycling Clubj was-granted the use of the Recieation Groundtori Saturday," 10th Decembei, arrangements having been made with the cricket authorities.
