PROBATIONERS LICENSED

The Wellington Presbytery held a public service in Calvin Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, last evening for the purpose of licensing Messrs. L. V. Bibby, M.A., and \' M.A., as probationers for the ministry. The service was conducted by the Rev. W. R. Milne, moderator, assisted by the Rev. James McCaw and the Rev. D. 11. Hercus. After the formal ceremony of licensing had taken place the Rev. Mr. Milne delivered a solemn charge to the candidates. Mr. Bibby, who- resides at Brooklyn studied at Victoria College and Knox College, Dunedin. He has received an appointment as assistant minister at Knox Church, Masterton. Mr. Ferguson, who is of Lower Hutt, studied at Victoria College and at Knox College, Dunedin.

The Shandon Golf Club will play the October bojtey competition to-morrow. The third round of the Wllford Cup must be played this weekend.
