PUBLIC SCHOOL TENNIS

The annual meeting of the Wellington Public Schools' Lawn Tennis Association was held recently. .-. The annual report stated that the annual tournament was held at Miramar on 28th November, when 447 entries were received and 22 schools took part.' The in-ter-schools games were continued on Friday afternoons, and thirteen schools entered girls' teams.' Mr. W. J. Melody stated that the fiutf Valley had"formed a separate association and would hold its own tournament this year. A zoning system was discussed, and the possibility of dividing the schools into three or four groups was debated.' \ further meeting will decide this. If the zones are decided on, separate tournaments and inter-school .games will probably be held, and a cliampibn of champions tournament might be held as a final event. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Miv T. Forsyth; president, Mr. B. Kean (Miramar South School); secretary, Mr. B. McL. Ferkins (Lyall Bay School ; assistant secretary, Mr. W B Gosnell (South Wellington School): treasurer. Mr. A. McFarlane (Hutt Valley)executive, Misses Swap, Wallach, Higgin Hiddleston, Ramsay; Messrs. Melody Mc-Ivor, Bryant, Olsen. Simpson- dele Satf t° Wellington L.T.A., Mr. Mclvor and Mr. Gosnell. ■
