Ellison as a Commissioner of the High Court of the Cook Islands, is gazetted. Mr. D. MeGaskill, senior inspector of schools in tlie Hawkes Bay district,;.has received advice of "his promotion to the position of senior inspector of schools at Wellington. He -will take over ; .his new office from Ist February next. Mr. MeCaskill conrmenced his association with the Education Department in. South rCanterbury, and during the final seven years of his career as a teacher was headmaster at the Waimataitai School, Timaru. His first appointment as an inspector was in Westland, where he was stationed for four and a half years. It was eight and ahalf years ago that Mr. ■McCaskill first went to Hawkes Bay, and it was two and a half years ago that he was raised to the position of senior inspector. '.-■-. Mr. Keith J. A.
