GROSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

CHRISTCHURCH, 24th September.
The 100-mile amateur- cycling road race held over the. Round-the-Gorges' course : to-day was won. by R. 8.-Blake way off. 28 minutes' by a length from R. B. Calder. F. J. Grose, who finished fourth, von-the road championship by making the fastest time. The placed riders were:—. R. B. Blakeway (28min),' shr lmin 2 3-ssec, 1; R. B. Calder (40min), shr 13 mm 3sec, 2; J. Grigor (30rain), Shr 3min lsec,3; F. J. Grose (scr), 4hr 35min 40sec, 4; L. Dwight, of Auckland (scr), 4hr 33. mm 40 l-ssec, 5; Si W. Weir (scr) t 4hr 35 min.4o^ 2-ssec, 6; J. L.
