END OF DEADLOCK?
PATEA SHIPPING DISPUTE
:'" (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, 16th Soptember. It is reported that the South Taratiaki Shipping Company and tho West Coast .Refrigerating Company, after a conference with the Patea Watersiders' Union, have agreed to take the wateraiders oh at the old rates, thereby ending the deadlock which has existed at the port for some time. : It is understood that the settlement is only temporary, but no', official statements have been issued. About a month has elapsed since the. deadlock, and the vessels Hawera and Kapuni have been berthed at Patea, the crews haying beea dismissed.
