NEW ZEALAND PRESS
WARM TRIBUTE PAID
, A. warm tribute to the Press of New Zealand was paid by Mr. P. N. Bundle, manager of the New Zealand Olympic team, when speaking at the official welcome home given by the Mayor (Mr. T._ C: A. Hislop) to-day. ' Mr. Bundle said that after his experience in California he was satisfied that New Zealanders did not altogether realise what splendid newspapers > they' had. If it was a matter of sensational paragraphs or-'big headlines, the. American papers were all that could be desired, but with news of .the world it was quite a different' ttiing. A New Zealand paper gave more news in a day"than the average American paper provided in a. fortnight. An American journalist, who was shown a report of an interprovincial Bugby match in New Zealand, expressed amazement at«the vivid description given. - '••' ■*■■
