TWO MONTHS' GAOL

NO OPTION OF FINE

A sentence of two months' imprisonment without the option of a fine was imposed by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., to-day, on Imdwig Sigurd Earsen, a seaman and labourer, aged 37, for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car in Bugby street on Saturday evening. Larsen pleaded guilty. At 6.10 p.m. on Saturday, SeniorSergeant Scott said, Cpnstable Paget saw the accused in the vicinity of a motor-car near the Caledonian Hotel. The constable saw that the acjeused' was intoxicated, and ' warned the accused that if he drove the car he would be locked up. At 6.30 p.m., \ the accused returned to the car and got in and attempted to drive away. .
