CONCENTRATE'S PROGRESS
In a letter to a" Christchurcli friend last week the Riccarton trainer, C. Emerson, who is at- present in Sydney with Mr. R. J. Murphy's . horses, stated that Concentrate was'making' very satisfactory progress and would be in his best order again for the later spring- meetings. Early Cup went lame after his first race and was to have been offered at auction on Monday of last week. This , three-year-old was showing much promise, and Emerson/ considers he would have been a winner at his next attempt.. Oratorian was beaten only in the last i stride at Rosehill. He has been highly assessed by the Sydney handicappers, and in Emerson's opinion is weighted about a stone too much, no matter what race he'is entered for. Emerson further stated that Sydneyites have become very keen on Inflation and Silver Ring.
