Mrs. F.-T.-Frazer, Portland crescent, will leave Wellington to-morrow for a visit to Auckland. Dr. and Mrs. MeKellar, Dunedin, arrived from the South yesterday morning to . visit. .Mrs. McKellar's daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. J. Harding, Petone. Miss Cara Humphries returned to Hawkes Bay to-day after a brief visit to Wellington. '. ' Miss Shard, Sydney, is the guest of Dr. and Mrs. R. Welton-Hogg, Grant road. .......... Mr. and Mrs. •B: E. H.. Whitcoinbe, Christchurch,; .who 'have been visiting England, are. expected to return to New Zealand in October. Miss Enid Triggs, Napier, is spending a few weeks with Mrs. Arthur Warburton, The Terrace. ■ ! Miss G.- Outfield, Napier, who has been spending a few days in Wellington, will return home to-morrow. Mr. and Mrs. P, Borthwick, Watrarapa, who have been visiting England, have left •on their return, journey, and will arrive in New Zealand early in October. : Miss L. A. Allen, Christchurch, is the guest of Lady Chapman, Wellington. Ths engagement ia announced in Birmingham, England, of Doctor Victor Eylands Nicholson, late of Auckland and Wellington, and son of the late Diana. Nicholson and the late Andrew Garruthers Nicholson, to Miss Madeleine Marguerotte Wrighton, of Long Buekly, Northamptonshire. Miss Claire Sullivan, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. M-. McGuire, New Plymouth, has returned home. Mrs. E. P. Houghton, Oamaru, is the guest of Mrs. George Shand, Kelburn parade. Mrs. Norman Izett, Bongotai, and her daughter, left Wellington this morning for a visit to Feilding. Mrs. Coleridge Farr arrived from Christehurck yesterday to spend a week or two with friends' in Wellington. Miss Winifred Stenhouse, Dunedin, is spending the University vacation in Wellington. Mrs. and Miss Eobertson, Dannevirke, are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Miss Dorothy Dallyn, a young architectural student in England, has passed the membership examination of the Institute of Builders. She is the first and only woman in a membership of 800, and intends to specialise in modern sanitation. Mrs. W. Pacey, Devonport, is the guest of Mrs. H. Shaw, Penrose street, Lowfcir Hutt.
