FROM SIMPER FAMILY

Three members of the Simper family have been named by their owner-breeder Mr. W. T. Hazletij, of Invercargill. Ali are two year-olds. A chestnut colt by Night Raid from Dazzling Light will race as Dazzling Raid, a bay filly by Chief Ruler from Razzle Dazzle has been named Kindly Light, and a chestnut colt by Grand Knight from Simper has been called Sir Simper.

Simper, who was bred in England in 1912, and was by Symington from Chelya, is one of the most successful mares in the New Zealand Stud Book. She was the dam of Affectation, Illume, Gold Light, Razzle Dazzle, Dazzling Light, Beaco"h Light, Glad Light, Lucky Light, and Speed Light, whose combined winnings total over £30,000. She had a lengthy career at the stud, extending from 1914 till last year, -when she died. In that period she had eleven living foals. Sir Simper was her last.
