' The Victoriai* Eacing Club has taken action against'- twelve leading riders, including :N". Percival, who rode the last Melbourne Cup winner. The reason is not stated, but riding licences have been refused to "W. Brady, H. Bastian, H. A. Evans, W. J. Howson, T. Lewis, H. Morris, 2s T. Percival, "W. Scanlon, J. S.-Scarlett, P. Tehan, and R. "Wilson. The permit-of the apprentice, P. Egan, has also been withdrawn.
' Eumours that something of the sort ATOiild be happening have been current sine© the club refused licences to six leading bookmakers at Flemington, but the announcement was delayed till the current racing year had ended.
