ALL BLACKS AT TOOWOOMBA

TOOWOOMBA, 20th July.

Despite keen defence by Toowoomba, the New Zealand Eugby representatives scored victory by 30 points' to 6. The game was played at a-great pace. The spectators numbered 5000. -The "gate" was £200. The teams were:— New Zealand: Collins; Hart, Caughey, Holder; Lilburne, lunesj Corner; Metcalfe, Jessep, Hore, Manchester, Clarke, Steere, Barry, Solomon. Toowoomba: K. Lindsay, O. Hogden, E. Hayes, E. Felgenhauer, J. Carter, L. Wood, 1\ Broadfoot, V. Bermingham, J. Collie; W. Bitter, G. Cooke, M. Kelly, K. Suter, G. Ness, J. Sweeney. Tries were' scored for New Zealand by Hart, Barry, and Manchester (one each), Caughey (three), and Holder (two). Corner converted three. Hart signalised his Wtum by scoring first try, showing good form. For Toowoomba tries were scored by | Hayes and Wood as the result of excellent combination. . .

Lilburne showed .a return to form, and frequently cut through the defence, opening the way for the scoring of tries. Caughey also was brilliant. Innes was sound, but was evidently holding himself back for the Test match. The same applies to Solomon. Me'tcalfe, Steore, and Barry were the. best of the forwards.

Feasted with the ball from the scrums and rucks, . the New Zealand backs threw the ball about with gay abandon. Corner and Lilburne playing with fine understanding. - It was a treat to watch the Eugby provided.

The Test winger, Lindsay, played full-back- and saved brilliantly on several occasions.

Holder was the only casualty. One of his ears was : torn-and had to be stitched. : .
