The balance-sheet presented to tlie annual meeting of members of the Waverley Eacing Club last week showed a credit balance of £54 7s 6d, but the president (Mr. J..-E. Palmer) stated that if the amount of rent owipg and . depreciation (at £200) were taken into account, the balance would be £380 10s on the wrong side; of the. ledger. - . •"' ' " It was agreed to make a .recommendation to the new committee that all stakes at the meeting to be held on '24th October should be veduced to make a total of £600, and that all gate charges .should be reduced ' correspondingly; Last year the stakes given were £800. Only two. alterations were made in the election -of; ■'officers,' one beiDg the judge and the. ..other the starter. ; Both were made honorary positions; and local members were appointed. The position of auditor to the club was left in the hands of the committee, it being thought that this could also be an honorary iiosition.
