SEEN IN LONDON SHOPS
An English writer tells of the following novelties seen recently in London shops:— ,i A black straw hat, whose crown was covered,with feathery .imitation thistlp;dowrtv,or:. ; dandelion clocks. , • C^ Fin© white knitted "gloves for 'afternoon wear.;. These were of cotton or silk, and a short frilly cuff of crochet in a-ffeoarse lace pattern gave a novel effect;- <,-.„.. ~-, ~. ~.. . .-.. \ v Ik suit in butcher's blue, withlapels and eblftr of .'thick corded silk, striped all colours of the rainbow. A cone-shaped cap perched on a blonde head, with red, white, and bluo stripes swirling round and meeting at the tip. A navyijbluo walking' frock, with an inlet frOflt: of printed crepe de chino'in a minute flower; design. In tho. centre of .each flower /was sewn a tiny flat glass'bead, so that: the wholo had almost tho: effect of flowered sequins. Many White 'sailor hats; with bands of blue and white spotted ribbon, worn with a loose blue and white spotted soarf. .
