Tho result of the last meeting of the Parole "Board-at Wellington .was that sixteen of the inmates at the; Borstal Institution 6t-Point^als\vnell" received remission of •^sentences :: at '■varying periods,- in.order .tovjgitve the, members of the Women's Borstal Association time, in which to make arrangements f or| thsypla?ing :': of the' girls. This" in-: volves the : writing of letters: toi relatives, to people who are asked to be-come-associates of the committee, and •as;:such•■ to .take charge,-,-of : ,the girls during the year in the way of kindly supervision, and to others to meet and forward them from point to point at changes of train or steamer. Sometimes the requests are not granted and more letters have to be written; therefore the arrangements for each girl take both- ..time, .ajid, trouble .on the part, of. I committee member's and ■officials.' V-A hearty vote'of thanks was passed to all who had helped with so much generosity. It was mentioned that letters of thanks had been, sent to'all' 7who, helped with/ the doll, competition, w-hich- proved so successful; Reports on a'large of .eases were read, all, with the exception of two, ibeing favourable.
