WELLINGTON CLUB'S TRIO
An exceptionally, large gathering •of members-.of the Wellington-football Clvb1 last evening gave- an enthusiastic farewell to the three members-of the'club'included m; this gear's New Zealand team—Fi D Eilby. H. F. McLean, and^ J. R. Page. Keferences . were made to the fact that the club "had every, reason to feel, proud at having three New Zealand representatives at. the one time, and, more so, at the honour in having F. D. Kilby as the first member of the club to captain an i All Black team.' Fine tributes • were paid to the chosen players, to each of whom a presentation was made by Mr. J. Murray on behalf of the club. Mr. J. Preudeville, chairman of the Wellington Rugby Union, extended congratulations .:to"'the players on behalf of the .union; '
A. I. Cottrell, J. E. Manchester, and H. F. Hart, of the Christchurch Football Club, with which the Wellington Club has a close relationship,, were also; congratulated, and regret was expressed that an injury had prevented" Hart from taking his place in the New Zealand; team ■in the meantime, though it was gratifying to know-that he would be travelling with, the team, iri the hope of being able to take the field ere the toiir'was over. ■
