, Complaint of laxity in the method of conducting street, collections was made by Councillor W. Appktoi."at last night's City Council meeting. The City Council, he said, should insist in future on all collections being taken in. sealed boxes, as a check' and as a safeguard to the; contributing public. He further suggested that all street collections should be audited by the Town Clerk. The Mayor promised an investigation and a report at the next meeting as to the possibility of meeting these suggestions.-
No action is to be taken with regard toy an ■ application received from .the Secretary of the Post Office to have' parking prohibited in the' portion of Panama street, alongside the G.P.O.
