FIRES DURING MAY
The monthly return presented at today b meeting of the Wellington Fire Board stated that the actual fires during May totalled thirty-five, making the total tor the two months of the current financial year sixtythree, as compared with eighty during the corresponding period last year. The number of false alarms received during May was nineteen, of which eleven were justifiable and eight malicious; For the two months the total of false alarms was thirty-five (twenty-one justifiable and fourteen malicious), as compared with fifty-eight during the same period last year, when the malicious alarms were thirty-three and the justifiable calls twenty-five".
The Hutt Valley Electric Power Board yesterday decided to remain a member of the Wellington Employers' Association.
