MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police and summons oases were dealt with at the Magistrate's Court to-day by Mr. E. Page, S.M. A sentence of three months' imprisonment was imposed on Stanley May Robertson for stealing £3 in money, the property of Rachael Martin. Senior-Sergeant Scott said that the accused had been boarding with the complainant at Waipawa, and had stolen £3 from her purse when she was absent.from the house. The accused, said Mr. Scott, had a Jong list of convictions for various offences.
Patrick Jepson, a labourer, aged 40, was fined £1, in default three days' imprisonment, for his third offence of drunkenness.
The following1 were fined the amounts indicated, together with 10s costs in each case, for having unlicensed radio sets:— Walter F. Marris, George Charles Simmiss, Stanley E. C-Whitehead, Hedley M. Harris, George Glover, ■ 30s; Thomas W. Wilson, William C. Browne, John B. Reid, £-l;' Eric S. Dickerson, Francis Hazelwood, 10s. Frederick W. Maddams, Kenneth Thompson, and Harold J. B. Tomlinson were each. convicted and ordered to pay 10s'costs.. For his fourth offence of drunkenness, William Francis O'Brien, a labourer, aged 59, was fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. •■■■...... :.
