SEAMEN'S OPPOSITION
UNFAIR COMPETITION

SYDNEY, This Day.
The maritime unions are organising opposition to the Matson Line's entry into the Australian trade while Australian ships are excluded from the American coastal trade. The general secretary, Mr. Eaeburh, of the Seamen's Union, states that New Zealand seamen are seeking Australian co-oper-ation in the matter to avert the serious consequences of the Matson Line's competition with the Union Steam Ship Company.
