MYSTERY PLAY PERFORMED
On Sunday night a crowded congrega* tion, which included a number of the visit* ing athletes from the other University centres, witnessed a performance of A. M, BucktonV Christmas Mystery Play, I "Eager-Heart," in the Terrace Congregational Church. After the first part of ! the service, the choir, unseen, sang "God I Rest you, Merry Gentlemen," and then the Prologue stepped forward to the Communion rails, and invited the people to join heart and soul in this act of worship. The play then took its course, with music from Bach and Mozart. The story is I simple. It represents the quest by vaiajous types of humanity for the King of their hearts, and all at last after their search find their Lord in the Christ who cornea to the simple in simple guise. The acting was on .a lofty level of devotion and reverence, and was done by mem* bers of the Victoria University Student Christian Movement. Miss Mary Cooley helped with the setting. Mr. H. E. Brusey was at the organ, and led the choir. Tha soloists were Miss N. Coster and Mr. T. Watson. The principal part of "Eager*, Heart" was taken by Miss Mary Hursthouse. ■ • ■,
