The wedding was solemnised very quietly this morning at St. Mark's Church, Eemuera, Auckland, of Hilda Mary, younger daughter of the late Mr. Henry; S. Hadfield, of '-'• Lindale," Paraparaumu, and Mrs. Henry Hadfield, Wellington,, to Charles A. Hawke, of Kerikeri (formerly of England). The Eev. Mr. Cruickshank, Vicar of St. Mark's, officiated. The bride was escorted by her uncle, Mr. 'Prank Hadr field, and her brother, Mr. Selwyn Hadfield, was best man. She wore her travelling costume, a smart tailored gown of blue cloth flecked with white, a white peau d'ange vest, and small blue felt hat with a white and blue buckle. She wore a posy of orange blossom and blue flowers on her coat, and carried a small posy as well. Mrs. Hadfield was in a frock of black crepe de chine, patterned in tones of blue and rose, and a black hat with touches of white. The bride and bridegroom left in the afternoon en. route for their home at Kerikeri. The wedding was solemnised in St. Peter's Church, Upper Eiccarton, ,on Saturday afternoon of Miss . Joan Wotherspoon, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. "Wotherspoon, Christehurch, to Dr. F. W. Helmore, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Helmore, Holmwood road, Fendalton (states the Christchurch "Press"). The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. T. Yorke, and the organist was Mr. Hey. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore her mother's wedding dress of magnolia moire antique. The sleevelesa tight-fitting bodice had a deep lace berthe, and the long flared skirt widened into a train. Her veil of rare Honiton lace, over 200 years old, lent by Mrs. Helmore, was arranged to form a cap with a circlet of orange blossom. She wore long lace mittens, and carried a sheaf of begonias, roses, and arbutilon shading in colour from pale cream to deep orange. The bridesmaid, Miss Josie Wotherspoon (the bride's sister), wore a frock of sapphire blue chiffon velvet, made with moulded bodice, tight-fitting sleeves, Medici collar, and fully-flared skirt. Her bowler hat to match was trimmed with a blue ostrich feather mount, and she carried a sheaf of gold and blue flowers. Mr. H. McC. Studholme was best man. The reception was held at "Koiawa," the home of the bride's parents, whore a large! marquee, decorated with yellow and blue flowers, had been erected on the lawn. More than 100 guests were received by Mrs, Wotherspoon, who wore a frock of black georgette and lace, and black velour hat with ostrich feather mount. Her posy was composed ■• of red roses, zinnias, and autumn foliage. Mrs. Helmore, the bridegroom's mother, wore a smart frock of Lido blue wool marocain with vestee, collar, and puffed half-sleeves of vellumtmted broderie anglaise. Her Lido blue felt hat was trimmed with quills of a brighter tone, and she carried a bouquet of shaded flowers. Mrs. Gordon Minhmnick (Auckland), the bridegroom's sister, wore a brown afgaline frock with collar and cuffs of brown and green printed crepe de chine, and a brown felt hat. Mrs. J. Weir, another sister, wore wine-red flecked tweed frock, with beige collar and cuffs and a tweed hat to. match, and Mrs. E. Thomson, the bridegroom's youngest sister, wore a.blue and grey flecked tweed frock, with white collar, vest, and cuffs, and a white felt hat. For travelling, the bride wore a smart navy tailored suit, grey squirrel necklet, and a navy tncorne hat with feather mount.
