HOUSE AND CAR DESTROYED
A six-roomed house, of two floors, in Winchester street, Kaiwarra, was completely destroyed by fire at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. Th.c fire brigade was called, but when die engines reached the scene the fire had a good hold, and shortly afterwards the roof fell in. Thehouse was owned by Mrs. Mary Ann Traynor, and was occupied by Sidney Claude- Smith. The house next door, owned, by Mrs. Hilda Holt, and occupied by Mr. Hati, was severely scorched on the south side.
The services of the fire brigade we'« also called upon at 8.30 on Wednesday night, when a two-seater motor-car caught fire after it had gone over the bank at Breaker Bay. The car, which was owned by Mr. Ernest Linegear, of 9, Burwood street, Berhampore, was completely destroyed.
