KENNEL CLUB
The annual meeting of the Wellington Kennel Club was held on Saturday evening,. Mr,.H-. W. Thompson presiding. The annual report stated that in an effort to stimulate the interest of novice fanciers in Kennel Club affairs, the committee held three parades prior to the annual show. All parades -were well patronised, and a number of new fanciers became interested in the show. The New Zealand Toy Dog Club joined with the Wellington Kennel Club for the show; and placed a very ■ attractive list of. cups, trophies, and cash specials on the schedule. Mr. J. W. Marples, of England, was appointed judge of all breeds. A record entry of 415 dogs, with' approximately 13G2 entries, was received. At 31st December the membership of the club stood at -21- life.members, 39. .active .members,. arid. 26 honorary members.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. J. Mason; exective vice-presi-dents, Messrs. E. Hankey and D. H. Edgar; management committee, Messrs. A. S. Brown, F. House, E. Powell, A. Minogue, J. Barke, J. Harrap, L. Surridge, E. Patterson, C. 11. Wood, and Mrs. H. .L. Ogilvie-Brown; hon. veterinarian, Mr F Crossley, M.R.C.V.S.; show -manager, Mr. J. Tofts; auditor, Mr. E. G. Hollis; hon. secretary-treasnrer, Mr. C. 0. Duun; deledates to the New Zealand Kennel Club, Messrs. D. H. Edgar and J. Mason. Mrs. A. C. Gadd," former hon. secretarytreasurer, was elected a life member. . It was decided that a special committee should be set np to investigate the finances and membership of the ulub. " '
