FOR CHURCH FUND
FETE AT SILVERSTREAM
Cheerful music and many attractive stalls and competitions were features of the very successful garden, party held at Silverstream on Saturday afternoon. Tho beautiful grounds of Mr. W. Ferguson's home had been placed at the disposal, of the Silverstream ladies,\ who had made very excellent preparations fOr their fete. In spite of the rain, many visitors enjoyed the charm of the garden and the surrounding native- bush, which has been made a bird sanctuary by its owner. Bishop and Mrs. Sprott were present, and were welcomed by the Bey. M. Kendriek. The funds raised by the fete will be devoted to the Anglican Schoolroom. Many stalls did .good business, and the result was in every way satisfactory. The stall-holders wore as follows:— Produce, Mrs. Deller,. Mrs. Sowerby, Mrs. Iste'd; cake, Mrs. Gifford, Mrs. C. D. Henry, Miss M. Adams; jumble, Miss Barton, Mrs. Baekman; swoets, Mrs. Snell, Miss Y. Adams; flowers, Mrs. Knight Carpenter; afternoon tea, Miss O'Hara Smith, Mrs. Nicol, Mrs. Langdon; hoop-la, Miss Bendall; tennis and competitions in charge of Mr. Keegan; ice creams, Mrs. and Miss Young; amateur seer, Mrs. Jackson.
