CHRISTGHURCH, This Day. ~ The missing trampers are school teachers in Canterbury. Charles (Bernard) Robbins is a married mail, 27- years of age, residing with, bis Avife and three children at 11, Bunyan street,. Waltham.. His companions were Harold Smith, aged 25, residing at 4, Chancellor street, Shirley, and the third man, Keith Loney, is 26, and.lives at Hills road, Heathcote; Mrs. Robbins stated to-day that the three men had been planning the trip fpr.spme.weeks.. „ They left Christchurch on Monday, 4th January, for Hokitika, intending to walk back to Arthur's Pass and later to climb Mount Rolleston. ;
■••:..-■■■ HOKITIKA, This Day. It is reported to the Greymouth police that the party left Hokitika on the morning of sth January to tramp over, the Browning and White Horn Passes into Bealey. Apparently some disaster' overtook the. party seventeen miles up the Bealey .River. , , Mr. Smith is a son of a late school inspector, Mr. Harry Smith, formerly of Greymouth. Some years, ago he was a. teacher at the Hokitika state School. A brother of Mr. Loney is « teacher at Koiterangi.
