LOANS BEFORE TAXES
WASHINGTON, 6th December.
Mr. Andrew Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury, has announced three new issues of treasury notes certificates, totalling 1,300,000,000 dollars, to be offered immediately to aid meeting Government departmental operating expenses. •
Six hundred million dollars in oneyear notes will be offered at 3£ per cent., 300,000,000 dollars in six-months certificates' at 2J per cent., and 400,000,000 dollars in nine-months securities at 3 per cent.
